Abstract
The construction industry in Indonesia continues to experience development along with the increasing need for adequate infrastructure. In the construction process, the efficiency of material use is a very crucial aspect to support the success of the project, both in terms of cost, time, and quality. One of the most frequently used types of materials in building structures is reinforcing steel, especially in reinforced concrete slab structural elements. However, in practice, there is often a waste of reinforcement material that has the potential to cause inefficiency in construction costs. The research was conducted on the construction project of the National Brain Center Hospital (PON) Supporting Building which is vital and complex, the efficiency of material use is an aspect that cannot be ignored. This research uses a purely experimental quantitative method. The quantitative research method is a method for producing knowledge that uses data in the form of numbers as a source of information to analyze and gain an understanding of the things you want to know. Based on the research results, the weight of the required plate reinforcement is 141121.69 kg and the weight of the waste plate reinforcement is 21938.48 kg. The largest waste level of plate reinforcement is D10 iron at 18.5% with a weight of 7470.49 kg and the smallest is D13 iron at 14.4% with a weight of 14467.99 kg. The total cumulative waste of reinforcing plates is 15.5%.
